How to care for your teeth



Dental health is an important foundation of quality living. If we don’t take good care of our teeth it will cause many dental problems, like tooth ache, tooth decay, and tooth loss, etc. Having poor dental health can also affect your social life, because of problems like bad breath, unsightly yellow teeth and many more. Why wait for these problems to occur when we can prevent this from happening. The following are tips on how to care for your teeth:

1. Brushing teeth
Caring for your teeth should start by choosing a good quality toothbrush that can thoroughly clean the inside of the teeth. The bristles should be soft and good quality. Today, there are many types of toothbrush to choose from. Toothbrush should be replaced every 3 months to prevent bacteria from accumulating on the bristles. Brush all sides of your teeth especially on the molars and tongue, because bacteria can develop easily in that area, therefore, higher risk of oral disease. After using your toothbrush, make sure it is thoroughly rinsed and cleaned before keeping it. Choose toothpaste that best suits you and your oral problems, like toothpaste for sensitive teeth or toothpaste with fluoride.

2. Always use mouthwash
Using mouthwash will help clean our mouth thoroughly. Can wash away bacteria and food particles along gum line, tongue, cheeks, etc. It also keep breath fresh.

3. Avoid frequent intake of certain food and certain beverages
Food and beverages like tea, coffee, soft drinks, sweets and candies are often the source of oral health problems. It is impossible to stop eating all together, but reducing the consumption of theses will be helpful in maintaining good oral health. Also, patient should brush teeth as soon as possible after consuming these types of food and beverages.

4. Dental floss is very useful
Some people may have never tried using dental floss, but it is one of the most effective ways to remove food scraps in between teeth, because there are some areas where toothbrush cannot brush thoroughly. Using dental floss will help reduce the accumulation of bacteria which is the source of bad breath, tooth decay, gum disease

5. Keep your tongue clean.
The tongue is another organ that should be cleaned at all times. Currently, there are many tongue cleaning devices available. After every brushing, we must also clean the tongue to reduce bacteria on the tongue and help eliminate bad breath.
Just by doing this, we will have strong, clean, bright teeth, and we will always be ready to send a beautiful smile to everyone.
